In the technical department at SOBY, you can meet Ulla Tanderup Gade, who solves tasks related to coordination and technical advice. She has a background as a civil engineer in industrial design, which, according to Ulla, has given her a solid understanding of the aesthetic, financial and technical aspects behind product development. She has an analytical approach to her tasks and makes engineering, sales and digital development go hand in hand.
Motivational to have a broad understanding of our solutions
The role of Mechanical Engineer has a broad technical and practical function, says Ulla. She works closely with colleagues Niels and Morten in the technical department, where focus lies on both coordinating and executing tasks. She handles both data processing and personal advice, and it is a versatility she is happy about.
"My expertise comes into its own when I help customers. I can answer technical questions about our machines and go onsite, where I can advise on the plants where they are in use. I get a very broad understanding of our solutions that way, and it motivates me a lot to see how it makes a difference", she says.
The mantra is "Work smarter – not harder"
Ulla says that her role has developed during her time at SOBY. Although her interest lies primarily in technical aspects, she thrives on having to ensure that technology, sales and digital development go hand in hand.
"I emphasize creating structure and tidying up, and I strive to contribute to a strong interdisciplinary collaboration. My working method is simple: "Work smarter, not harder." I love being deeply committed and take pride in being thorough in everything I do. Even the apparently "boring" tasks get an interesting twist when I include mathematics, data processing or programming", she says.
Flat structure creates team spirit
SOBY is a small workplace with a flat structure. The smaller size allows me to participate in many different tasks and this is something I really enjoy. There is a strong team spirit in the company, where everyone works together to solve tasks, especially when the rush is high. It provides a rewarding and supportive working environment, which I am proud to be a part of.
