Green transition: SOBY goes one step further with the "Servitize" initiative

In cooperation with the Danish business and employers' organisation Danish Industry, SOBY has taken a step further towards accelerating the sustainable transition in its business model by participating in the project "SERVITIZE - the sustainable service concepts of the future". The initiative, which focuses on servitization, digital transformation and sustainability, is, according to SOBY, crucial to meeting the market needs of today and the future.

Co-owner Mette Frantsen emphasizes the importance of the initiative: "Our participation in SERVITIZE marks an important step in our efforts to accelerate the sustainable transition in our business model. We have long known that we have to do more than develop solutions that solve the task of the end user. We will offer solutions that also take into account the longevity of the products and reduce the environmental impact", she says.

Will make a real difference in an overall value chain
SERVITIZE is supported by an investment of DKK 19 million from the industry's fund, and involves partners such as force technology, the technological institute and Aarhus University. The purpose is to help Danish SMEs in the manufacturing industry to adapt their business strategies to a more sustainable future. For SØBY, this means a unique opportunity to strengthen its position on the market and make a real difference to the efforts around green transition in the industry.

"The collaboration gives us access to knowledge, which is crucial for driving our green transition forward," says Mette Frantsen. "It not only helps us to optimize our processes, but also to develop new solutions that can make a real difference for our customers in terms of bringing sustainability into an overall value chain."

National initiatives are essential for a proactive approach
Projects like SERVITIZE above all give SOBY the opportunity to demonstrate a proactive approach to promoting sustainability within the company's own walls. But the management says that the project also entails an obligation to be at the forefront of industrial development.

"We play a significant role in the industry and therefore we also have a responsibility to lead the way. Our goal is not only to adapt to a changing world – we also want to help define the future of crop management when we talk about green transformation. Initiatives such as SME: Grøn, SERVITIZE and Project GREEN are absolutely essential for us to succeed in that goal", concludes Mette Frantsen.
